You'll need:
Cold tea/coffee (about 1/2 cup)
One piece of white paper
A hairdryer
Some coloured pens or penicls
A little imagination.
Take the piece of white paper and rip off all
the edges. If your rip the edges rather than cutting them, it will make the map look older.
Crumple the paper up as tightly as you can into
a ball.
Flatten the paper out again and put it onto a plate
or baking tray.
Pour the tea/coffee over the paper. Spread it
around to make sure it covers everything.
Let the paper sit in the tea/coffee for about 5 minutes.
Drain any excess liquid into the sink.
Dry with a hairdryer on high for
about 5 minutes. Leave it sitting on the plate/baking tray while drying or it will tear to
pieces. When it's almost dry - and starts to lift a bit - turn the hairdryer
down to low for about another 2 minutes, to finish it off.
Now take some coloured pencils and draw your map. Some ideas for your map:
The name of your Island.
Compass - with N, S, E and W.
A dotted line trail to plan your route.
Pirate Ship.
Waterfall.
Skeleton Cove.
Rickety Rope Bridge.
Treasure Chest.
Don't forget X Marks the Spot!
